 "Preserving Our Heritage Festival"

The Burlington Checker Club will participate in the Alamance Co. Cedarock Park - "Preserving Our Heritage Festival"  Saturday, August 25th, 2007  10am - 4pm

The annual festival will feature demonstrations of turn-of-the-century skills
that were typical on a farm of that era including butter churning, soap making,
quilting & more. Antique tractors, Auto, & "hit & miss" engines will be on display.
Old-time children's games including checkers, sack races & egg toss.  Concessions
available.  Live music all day featuring Southeast Express, playing
bluegrass & gospel.  Come out & enjoy this fun, family-friendly event.
Yes, Checkers and Beekeeping will be there!

The crown jewel of the Alamance County Recreation and Parks Department,
Cedarock Park and Historical Farm is located off of NC49, about 6 miles
south of Interstate 85/40 Exit 145. Home to two Disc Golf courses,
several walking trails, beautiful scenery, and an historical farm,
Cedarock is a wonderful place to visit!
